School Overview
Two of our district's Career Technical Education (CTE) centers will merge at 100 Midland Ave. in downtown Lexington and be ready for classes in August 2025. Eastside and Southside have housed CTE programs since the 1970s. This merger will give us space to increase our enrollment as we develop hybrid programs and a skilled workforce to meet industry demands in our community.
Spaces in the former Herald-Leader building, which Fayette County Public Schools has fully renovated, include administration areas on each floor for easier student support, labs and classrooms, and collaborative breakout areas. The building also features energy-efficient designs, which are a priority for our district.
Students have already taken the lead in shaping their learning spaces -- choosing classroom seating, designing flexible shared spaces, and selecting materials that enhance collaboration and creativity. Students also contribute to other key decisions, ensuring a school built for and by them.
