Heavy Equipment & Trucking Operation

Grades 9-12

Heavy equipment operators control large, heavy-duty vehicles designed for construction, agriculture, mining, and other industries, used for tasks like earthmoving, material handling, digging, and hauling, increasing efficiency and productivity.

The Heavy Equipment program will prepare students for construction jobs, infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, and ports, otherwise called non-building construction), and mining and timber operations. This is a pre-apprenticeship pathway with a guaranteed post-secondary apprenticeship placement for students upon completing the program. Training is via both advanced VR simulators and actual equipment on-site.
