Fire and emergency work entails responding to fires, medical emergencies, accidents, and disasters, involving fire suppression, rescue, hazard mitigation, and providing life-saving assistance to protect lives and property.

This program focuses on the theory and practice of fire science/firefighting. It includes instruction in fire chemistry and physics, combustible materials, building construction, fire codes and related laws, fire hydraulics, fire command, fire prevention/inspection, fire protection systems, fire suppression systems, fire/arson investigation, occupational safety, equipment operation, emergency medicine and communications.
